Erika Strassburger ran for Pittsburgh City Council in a Special Election early 2018. Before running, Erika was an environmental activist with PennEnvironment and later, Chief of Staff for former-Councilperson Dan Gilman. She won the election with 64% of the vote.
Ampersand oversaw campaign strategy and plan; hired and trained campaigned staff; created and executed fundraising and media plans. That year, Ampersand won pollie awards for the digital video “Running” and for field analytics for a dynamic Election Day turnout model.
In 2021, Erika ran for and won re-election. Ampersand repeated its role by overseeing campaign strategy and plan; hired and trained campaign staff; created and executed media plan.
